Moving on to the Finals!

Congrats to all the Woodward athletes who participated in the Trials this week.  I am so proud of our students for their hard work and incredible school spirit!  The following students have qualified for the Finals Meet on Tuesday, May 7th at Sierra High School.  All Woodward students and familes are welcome to come cheer on those who will be participating.

No practice Friday due to minimum day.  All track members are invited after school on Monday for a team picture and ice cream celebration.  Wear your track shirt!

MUST Track Trials

Track Trials will be held this week.  Fourth through sixth grade Trials will be held on Monday, April 29th.  Junior High Trials will be held on Wednesday, May 1st.  Both Meets will be held at Sierra High School at 4:30.  All athletes need to arrive 30 minutes early.

Each member of the track team will be entered into 2-3 running events.  Field events are limited to the individuals listed on the schedule.  Students who qualify during trials will be able to participate in the finals on May 7th.

All track members are invited out to the trials to cheer for our participants!  Run Woodward!

 

Meet #2 - Thursday, April 25th at Manteca High

Our second Meet will be held at Manteca High School on

Thursday, April 25th at 4:00.  Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early.

Any interested students may participate in the field events

(long jump and shot put) in between their running events. 

The field event pits will close at 6:30. 

Please be sure to report your field event results to your coach.

 

Remember to wear your track shirt.  Be sure to bring water!

Our First Meet of the Season!

This Thursday, April 18th, will be our first Meet of the season.  The Meet will be at Manteca High School at 4:00.  Please arrive 30 minutes early - 3:30.  Meets last approximately 3 hours.

Important Information Regarding Meets:

· Students need to bring water to all meets and practices.

 

· Students should wear their track shirt, comfortable running shorts, and running shoes (no spikes).

· Students must report to Mrs. Crippen and check in regularly.

· Students are to remain in our Woodward Cheering Section between events and help encourage our team members on the track
 

· Students are responsible for checking in at the staging area for their events on time, listen for announcements, and follow the order of events. (with 93 runners on our team, coaches will not be able to tell every individual child when it is time to check in for their event.)

· Students are responsible for completing their field events between their running events and recording their results on the team clipboards. All field events are open from 4:30-6:30.

· Students are expected to represent Woodward Elementary in a positive manner showing respect for all participants.

The track schedule is TENTATIVE as weather and schedules often conflicts. 

Please check the website regularly for updates.

 

Registration Forms and $30 cash is due to the Woodward Office by Friday, April 5th.

Students should bring water to all practices and meets.

Practices will be for one hour after school.

Meets will be held at Manteca High School and Sierra High School.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to meet start time.

Meets are approximately 3 hours long.
